Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Torque wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Pressure gauge
  • Level

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Location: Choose a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with sufficient space for maintenance access and proper airflow.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Ensure a solid, level concrete foundation capable of supporting the compressor's weight and vibration.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply following local electrical codes. Use proper circuit protection.
  4. Air System Connection: Install proper piping with drain legs, using thread sealant on all connections. Include shut-off valves.
  5. Oil Check: Verify proper oil level according to manufacturer specifications before initial startup.
  6. Pressure Settings: Set cut-in and cut-out pressures according to application requirements and manufacturer guidelines.
  7. Initial Run Test: Run compressor without load for 10 minutes, then gradually increase to full load while monitoring performance.
Warning: All installations must be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide buildup in enclosed spaces.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset overloads, verify pressure switch settings
Low pressure output Air leaks, clogged filters, worn valves Check for leaks, replace air filters, inspect valve plates
Excessive noise/vibration Worn bearings, loose components, improper foundation Check bearings and mounts, tighten all fasteners, verify foundation
High operating temperature Dirty cooler, low oil level, restricted airflow Clean cooler fins, check oil level, ensure proper ventilation
Excessive oil consumption Worn rings, leaking seals, overfilling Check compression, inspect seals, verify proper oil level
Frequent cycling Air leaks, faulty pressure switch, undersized receiver Locate and repair leaks, adjust or replace pressure switch

Error Codes
