Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Multimeter
  • Refrigerant gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Torque wrench
  • Leak detector
  • Insulation tester
  • Flaring tool set

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Preparation: Select a location with proper clearance, solid mounting surface, and access to electrical and drainage connections.
  2. Mounting Unit: Securely mount indoor and outdoor units according to manufacturer specifications with proper vibration isolation.
  3. Refrigerant Line Installation: Connect copper lines using proper flaring techniques, ensuring clean, debris-free connections.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper grounding according to local electrical codes.
  5. Drainage Setup: Install condensate drain line with proper slope and trap to prevent water accumulation.
  6. Vacuum and Charge: Evacuate system to 500 microns, then charge with correct refrigerant type and amount.
  7. System Testing: Test all functions including cooling, heating, fan speeds, and thermostat operation.
Warning: Only certified HVAC technicians should perform installation and repair work. Improper handling of refrigerants is illegal and dangerous.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not cooling Low refrigerant, dirty coils, compressor failure Check refrigerant charge, clean coils, test compressor
Poor airflow Clogged filter, fan motor issue, duct obstruction Replace filter, check fan motor, inspect ductwork
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper slope, pump failure Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, test pump
Unusual noises Loose parts, fan blade damage, compressor issue Tighten components, inspect fan blades, check compressor
Unit cycles on/off frequently Dirty filter, thermostat issue, oversized unit Clean/replace filter, calibrate thermostat, verify sizing
Frozen coils Low airflow, low refrigerant, dirty coils Check airflow, verify charge, clean coils

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor failure - Replace sensor
  • E2: Coil temperature sensor failure - Replace sensor
  • E3: High pressure fault - Check refrigerant charge and condenser
  • E4: Low pressure fault - Check for leaks and charge level
  • E5: Compressor overload - Check electrical connections
  • E6: Communication error - Check wiring between units
  • E7: Fan motor failure - Test and replace if necessary
  • E8: Drain pump failure - Check pump and float switch
