Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Multimeter
  • Manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Refrigerant scale
  • Leak detector
  • Torque wrench set
  • Flaring tool kit

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Preparation: Select a location with proper clearance, solid mounting surface, and adequate ventilation for both indoor and outdoor units.
  2. Mounting Brackets: Install wall brackets for indoor unit and concrete pad for outdoor unit ensuring level installation.
  3. Refrigerant Lines: Connect copper refrigerant lines using proper flaring techniques and torque specifications.
  4. Electrical Connections: Connect power supply wires according to wiring diagram, ensuring proper grounding and circuit protection.
  5. Drain Line Installation: Install condensate drain line with proper slope and trap to ensure proper drainage.
  6. Vacuum and Charge: Evacuate system to 500 microns, then charge with correct refrigerant type and amount.
  7. System Testing: Test all functions including cooling, heating, fan speeds, and thermostat operation.
Warning: Only certified HVAC technicians should perform installation and repair work. Improper handling of refrigerants is illegal and dangerous.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not turning on Power supply issue, tripped breaker, faulty remote Check power supply, reset breaker, replace remote batteries
Poor cooling performance Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked condenser Clean filters, check refrigerant charge, clear condenser area
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper installation, frozen coil Clear drain line, check installation slope, defrost system
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, failing motor Tighten all fasteners, clear debris, inspect motor bearings
Frequent cycling Dirty filters, thermostat issues, oversized unit Clean/replace filters, calibrate thermostat, verify sizing
Ice formation on coils Low airflow, low refrigerant, dirty evaporator Check filters and blower, verify refrigerant charge, clean coil

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor failure - Replace sensor
  • E2: Pipe temperature sensor failure - Replace sensor
  • E3: High pressure protection - Check condenser, refrigerant charge
  • E4: Low pressure protection - Check for leaks, refrigerant charge
  • E5: Compressor overload - Check voltage, compressor windings
  • E6: Communication failure - Check wiring between indoor/outdoor units
  • E7: Fan motor failure - Check motor, capacitor, wiring
  • E8: Water pump failure - Check pump, float switch
