Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigeration manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Tubing cutter and bender
  • Torch kit with nitrogen regulator
  • Multimeter and leak detector
  • Level and measuring tape

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Preparation: Select a location for both indoor and outdoor units with proper clearances, solid foundation, and accessibility for maintenance.
  2. Mounting Indoor Unit: Install the air handler or furnace in a clean, dry area with proper drainage and electrical connections.
  3. Install Refrigerant Lines: Run properly insulated copper lines between indoor and outdoor units, ensuring proper slope and support.
  4. Electrical Connections: Connect to dedicated 240V circuit with proper disconnect switch and grounding. Follow local electrical codes.
  5. Condensate Drain Installation: Install primary and secondary drain lines with proper trap and venting to prevent water damage.
  6. Outdoor Unit Placement: Install condenser unit on level pad with minimum 24" clearance on all sides for proper airflow.
  7. System Evacuation and Charging: Evacuate system to 500 microns, then charge with specified refrigerant amount according to line length.
  8. System Testing: Test all functions including cooling, heating (if applicable), fan operation, and thermostat control.
Warning: Installation must be performed by licensed HVAC technicians only. Improper installation can cause equipment damage, reduced efficiency, and void warranty.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
AC not cooling Thermostat setting, power issue, refrigerant leak Check thermostat settings, circuit breaker, and call for service if refrigerant low
Unit not turning on Power outage, tripped breaker, faulty thermostat Check power supply, reset breakers, test thermostat
Poor airflow Dirty filter, blocked vents, blower issues Replace air filter, clear vents, check blower operation
Water leakage Clogged drain line, frozen coil, improper installation Clear drain line, check for ice on coil, verify proper slope
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, motor issues Tighten components, clear debris, call for service
Short cycling Oversized unit, dirty coils, refrigerant issues Check sizing, clean coils, verify refrigerant charge

Error Codes

  • E1: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor and outdoor units
  • E2: High pressure fault - Check for restricted airflow or overcharge
  • E3: Low pressure fault - Check for refrigerant leak or restriction
  • E4: Compressor overload - Check voltage and compressor operation
  • E5: Fan motor fault - Check fan motor and capacitor
  • E6: Temperature sensor fault - Check sensor resistance and connections
