Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Teflon tape
  • Air hose

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with adequate clearance for air flow and maintenance access.
  2. Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect for any shipping damage. Check all components against packing list.
  3. Position Compressor: Place on a flat, stable surface. Ensure unit is level to prevent oil leakage and uneven wear.
  4. Oil Check: Check oil level in pump. Add compressor oil if necessary (SAE 30 non-detergent).
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 60Hz, 15A outlet. Use dedicated circuit if possible.
  6. Air System Setup: Connect air hose to quick-connect coupler. Install air filter if not pre-installed.
  7. Pressure Settings: Adjust pressure regulator to desired output pressure (typically 90-120 PSI for most tools).
  8. Initial Run: Run compressor without load for 30 minutes to break in. Check for leaks and proper operation.
Warning: Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure proper ventilation as compressors produce carbon monoxide.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Leaks, worn rings, clogged filter Check for air leaks, inspect piston rings, clean/replace air filter
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, bad bearings, uneven surface Tighten all bolts, check motor bearings, place on level surface
Oil leakage Overfilled, worn seals, loose fittings Check oil level, replace seals, tighten all connections
Motor overheating Dirty fins, low voltage, excessive cycling Clean cooling fins, check voltage, allow proper cool down
Slow recovery Worn valves, intake restriction, high altitude Check/replace valves, clean intake, adjust for altitude
