  • Pliers
  • Teflon tape
  • Pressure gauge

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated area on a solid, level surface away from flammable materials.
  2. Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect the compressor for any shipping damage.
  3. Oil Check: Check the oil level in the pump (if oil-lubricated model) and add recommended oil if necessary.
  4. Connect Air Hose: Attach the air hose to the compressor outlet using appropriate fittings and Teflon tape for sealing.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 15A, AC outlet with correct circuit protection. Do not use an extension cord.
  6. Pressure Settings: Set the pressure regulator to the recommended PSI for your tools (typically 90-120 PSI).
  7. Initial Test Run: Run the compressor without load for 10-15 minutes to break in the pump and check for leaks.
Warning: Always wear safety glasses when operating the compressor. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low air pressure Air leak, worn piston rings, clogged air filter Check for leaks, clean/replace air filter, inspect pump
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all fasteners, check mounting surface, inspect bearings
Air leaks Loose fittings, damaged hose, faulty check valve Tighten connections, replace damaged hose, check valve
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, inadequate ventilation, continuous operation Clean cooling fins, improve ventilation, allow cool-down periods
Slow recovery time Clogged intake filter, worn pump, leaking check valve Clean air filter, check pump wear, inspect check valve

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check for leaks
  • Weekly: Clean air filter, check hose condition
