User Manual & Installation Guide

33 Gallon Vertical Tank

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Tape measure

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location on a solid, level floor with adequate clearance for maintenance.
  2. Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect the compressor for any shipping damage.
  3. Position the Compressor: Place the compressor in its permanent location, ensuring it's level and stable.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 15A, dedicated circuit. Use appropriate gauge extension cord if needed.
  5. Air System Setup: Install air hose connections using thread sealant. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.
  6. Oil Check: Check oil level in the pump and add if necessary (for oil-lubricated models).
  7. Initial Test Run: Run the compressor without load for 10-15 minutes to break in the pump and check for proper operation.
Warning: All installations must be performed by a qualified person. Ensure proper ventilation and follow all local electrical codes.

Key Features

ASME Certified Tank

33-gallon ASME certified tank provides ample air storage for extended tool use and reduced motor cycling.

Oil-Free Pump

Maintenance-free oil-free pump design eliminates the need for regular oil changes and prevents oil contamination in air lines.

Dual Voltage Ready

Some models feature dual voltage capability (120V/240V) for increased flexibility in workshop setup.

Thermal Overload Protection

Built-in thermal overload protection automatically shuts off the motor if it overheats, preventing damage.

Quick-Connect Coupler

Industrial-style quick-connect air coupler allows for fast tool changes without tools or thread sealant.

Low Amp Draw

Efficient motor design with low amp draw allows operation on standard 15-amp household circuits.

Pressure Regulation System

Pressure Switch

Automatically starts and stops the motor to maintain preset pressure range (typically 115-175 PSI)

Pressure Gauge

Dual gauges display tank pressure and regulated output pressure for precise tool control

Regulator Valve

Allows adjustment of output pressure from 0 to maximum tank pressure for different tools

Safety Valve

Automatic pressure relief valve opens if pressure exceeds safe limits

Check Valve

Prevents backflow of air from tank to pump when compressor is off

Drain Valve

Easy-access drain valve for removing moisture from tank bottom

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Air leak, worn pump rings, faulty check valve Check for leaks, inspect check valve, test pump output
Excessive cycling Air leak, worn pump, small tank for application Check for leaks, ensure proper tank size for tools used
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, inadequate ventilation, excessive duty cycle Clean cooling fins, improve ventilation, reduce duty cycle
Excessive moisture in air High humidity, inadequate draining, missing air dryer Drain tank regularly, install aftercooler or air dryer
Unusual noises Loose components, worn bearings, valve issues Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, inspect valves

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check for leaks
  • Weekly: Check oil level (oil-lubricated models), clean intake filter
  • Monthly: Inspect belts and pulleys, check safety valve operation
  • Annually: Change oil (if applicable), inspect check valve, complete system check
  • As Needed: Replace air filter, tighten fasteners, clean cooling fins
