- Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect the compressor for any shipping damage.
- Oil Check: Check the oil level in the pump (if applicable) and add recommended compressor oil if needed.
- Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 60Hz, 15A outlet. Use only a dedicated circuit.
- Air System Setup: Connect air hoses and accessories using appropriate fittings. Ensure all connections are tight.
- Pressure Settings: Adjust pressure regulator to desired output pressure (typically 90-120 PSI for most tools).
- Initial Test Run: Run the compressor for 10-15 minutes without load to break in the pump and check for leaks.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor won't start | Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped | Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch |
| Low pressure output | Leaks in system, worn pump rings, clogged air filter | Check for leaks, clean or replace air filter, inspect pump |
| Excessive noise/vibration | Loose components, worn motor bearings, uneven surface | Tighten all fasteners, ensure level surface, check motor mounts |
| Air leaks | Loose fittings, damaged hoses, faulty check valve | Tighten all connections, replace damaged hoses, check valves |
| Motor overheats | Restricted ventilation, excessive cycling, low voltage | Ensure proper ventilation, check voltage, allow cool-down periods |
| Slow recovery time | Clogged intake filter, worn pump, excessive demand | Clean air filter, check pump condition, reduce air tool demand |
Maintenance Schedule
- Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check for leaks
- Weekly: Inspect hoses and fittings, clean air filter
- Monthly: Check safety valve operation, inspect electrical connections
- Annually: Complete system inspection, check tank for corrosion
