Installation Guide
Tools Needed:
- Torque wrench set
- Air pressure gauge
- Socket set
- Leveling instrument
- Pipe thread sealant
Step-by-Step Installation
- Site Preparation: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate space for maintenance access and proper airflow.
- Foundation Requirements: Prepare a solid, level concrete foundation capable of supporting the compressor's weight and vibration.
- Uncrating and Positioning: Carefully remove all shipping materials and position the compressor using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply as per nameplate specifications. Ensure proper grounding and circuit protection.
- Air System Connection: Install air lines using proper pipe sizing. Include shut-off valves, drains, and pressure regulators as needed.
- Cooling System Setup: Connect water cooling lines if applicable, ensuring proper flow rates and temperature control.
- Initial Startup Check: Verify all connections, lubricant levels, and safety devices before initial startup and testing.

Maintenance Procedures
Daily Maintenance
Check oil level, drain condensate from air receiver and aftercooler, inspect for leaks, check pressure readings, and verify temperature parameters.
Weekly Maintenance
Clean air intake filters, check belt tension (if applicable), inspect electrical connections, and verify safety valve operation.
Monthly Maintenance
Change oil filter, clean oil separator, check tube oil cooler, inspect valves and actuators, and test emergency stop functions.
Quarterly Maintenance
Replace air filter elements, check motor bearings, inspect coupling alignment, clean heat exchangers, and calibrate pressure sensors.
Annual Maintenance
Complete oil change, replace oil separator element, inspect air end, check all safety devices, and perform comprehensive system testing.
Predictive Maintenance
Utilize ELGi's monitoring systems for vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and performance trending to prevent unexpected downtime.
Lubrication Schedule
Synthetic Oil
Recommended change interval: 4000-8000 hours depending on operating conditions and environment
Mineral Oil
Recommended change interval: 2000-4000 hours with regular oil analysis
Oil Filter
Replace every 2000 hours or with every oil change, whichever comes first
Air Filter
Clean weekly, replace when differential pressure exceeds 0.5 bar
Separator Element
Replace every 4000-8000 hours or when pressure differential indicates
Grease Points
Motor bearings and fan motors: Lubricate every 4000 hours with specified grease
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor won't start | Power issue, emergency stop activated, control fault | Check power supply, reset emergency stop, check control panel for faults |
| High operating temperature | Dirty cooler, low oil level, faulty thermostat | Clean heat exchanger, check oil level, test temperature controls |
| Low pressure output | Air leaks, worn valves, intake restriction | Check for leaks, inspect valve assembly, clean/replace air filter |
| Excessive vibration | Misalignment, worn bearings, loose mounting | Check alignment, inspect bearings, tighten mounting bolts |
| High oil consumption | Worn separator, leaking seals, overfilling | Replace separator element, check seals, verify correct oil level |
| Unusual noises | Bearing failure, foreign objects, mechanical wear | Inspect bearings, check for debris, examine internal components |
