Husky 175 PSI Air Compressor

User Manual & Installation Guide

175 PSI Maximum Pressure

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Tape measure
  • Air hose fittings

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate clearance for air flow and maintenance access.
  2. Check Oil Level: Before first use, check the oil level in the pump and add recommended compressor oil if necessary.
  3. Position the Compressor: Place on a solid, level surface to minimize vibration during operation.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 15A, AC outlet with correct circuit protection. Do not use an extension cord.
  5. Air System Setup: Install air filter on intake, connect air hose to outlet using appropriate fittings, and ensure all connections are tight.
  6. Pressure Settings: Adjust pressure regulator to desired output pressure (not exceeding tool requirements).
  7. Initial Test Run: Run compressor without load for 10-15 minutes to break in, then check for leaks and proper pressure buildup.
Warning: Always wear safety glasses when operating air compressor. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide buildup. All installations must be performed by a qualified person.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Air leak, worn piston rings, clogged air filter Check for leaks, inspect piston rings, clean or replace air filter
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, uneven surface Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, ensure level installation
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, low oil, restricted ventilation Clean cooling fins, check oil level, improve ventilation
Oil in air lines Overfilled oil, worn piston rings, wrong oil type Drain excess oil, inspect rings, use recommended compressor oil
Frequent cycling Air leak, faulty pressure switch, undersized tank Check for leaks, adjust pressure switch, verify application requirements

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Check oil level, drain moisture from tank, inspect for leaks
  • Weekly: Clean air filter, check belt tension (if applicable), inspect hoses
  • Monthly: Check all fasteners, inspect safety valve, clean cooling fins
  • Every 3 Months: Change compressor oil, inspect piston and valves
  • Annually: Replace air filter, check motor brushes, professional inspection
  • Every 2 Years: Replace safety valve, complete system overhaul
