Installation Guide
Tools Needed:
- Adjustable wrench
- Level
- Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
- Pliers
- Tape measure
- Air hose
- Pressure gauge
Step-by-Step Installation
- Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location on a solid, level floor with adequate clearance for airflow.
- Remove Shipping Materials: Remove all packaging materials and shipping restraints from the compressor.
- Check Oil Level: Verify the oil level in the pump (if applicable) and add compressor oil as needed.
- Connect Air Hose: Attach the air hose to the compressor's outlet using appropriate fittings and thread sealant.
- Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 60Hz, 15A dedicated outlet. Use appropriate extension cord if needed (12-gauge minimum).
- Pressure Settings: Set the pressure regulator to desired output pressure (typically 90-120 PSI for most tools).
- Initial Run: Run the compressor without load for 10-15 minutes to break in the pump and check for leaks.
- Drain Tank: After initial run, drain all moisture from the tank using the drain valve.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor won't start | Power issue, pressure switch set incorrectly, thermal overload tripped | Check power supply, adjust pressure switch, allow motor to cool and reset |
| Low air pressure | Air leak, clogged filter, worn piston rings | Check for leaks with soapy water, clean or replace air filter, inspect pump |
| Excessive noise/vibration | Loose components, uneven surface, worn motor bearings | Tighten all bolts and fittings, place on level surface, check motor mounts |
| Motor runs continuously | Air leak, faulty pressure switch, check valve issue | Check for leaks, test pressure switch operation, inspect check valve |
| Water in air lines | High humidity, inadequate draining, no moisture trap | Drain tank daily, install inline moisture filter, ensure proper ventilation |
| Overheating | Dirty cooling fins, inadequate ventilation, excessive duty cycle | Clean cooling fins, improve ventilation, observe 50% duty cycle limit |
Maintenance Schedule
- Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check for leaks
- Weekly: Inspect air filter, check hose connections
- Monthly: Test safety valve, check belt tension (if applicable)
- Quarterly: Clean cooling fins, inspect electrical connections
- Annually: Replace air filter, comprehensive inspection
