User Manual & Installation Guide

30 Gallon Vertical

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Teflon tape
  • Air hose fittings

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate clearance for maintenance and operation.
  2. Position the Compressor: Place on a solid, level floor capable of supporting the compressor's weight when fully loaded.
  3. Check Oil Level: Verify oil level is at the proper mark on the sight glass before first use.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 15A, 60Hz outlet with correct circuit protection. Use only 12-gauge extension cords if needed.
  5. Air System Setup: Install air filter on intake, connect air hose to outlet using Teflon tape on threads.
  6. Pressure Settings: Set cut-out pressure to 155 PSI and cut-in pressure to 135 PSI (factory preset).
  7. Test Run: Run compressor without load for 30 minutes to break in, then check for leaks and proper operation.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Leaks in system, worn piston rings, clogged intake filter Check for leaks, clean/replace air filter, inspect pump
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all bolts, check motor mounts, ensure level installation
Oil in air lines Overfilled oil, worn piston rings, wrong oil type Check oil level, use proper compressor oil, inspect pump
Motor overheats Dirty cooling fins, low voltage, excessive cycling Clean cooling fins, check voltage, allow proper cool down
Slow recovery time Worn valves, leaking check valve, undersized wiring Check pump valves, inspect check valve, verify adequate power supply

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check oil level
  • Weekly: Inspect for leaks, clean intake filter
  • Monthly: Check belt tension, tighten fasteners
  • Every 3 Months: Change oil (or 500 hours)
  • Every 6 Months: Inspect safety valve, clean cooling fins
  • Annually: Complete system inspection, replace air filter
