Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigeration manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Leak detector
  • Torque wrench set
  • Multimeter
  • Tube cutter and bender
  • Flaring tool set

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Preparation: Select appropriate location with proper clearances, structural support, and accessibility for maintenance.
  2. Mounting Unit: Install mounting brackets or pads ensuring level installation with proper vibration isolation.
  3. Refrigerant Lines: Install copper lines with proper insulation, ensuring correct sizing and minimal bends.
  4. Electrical Connections: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper voltage (208-230V) and install disconnect switch within sight of unit.
  5. Condensate Drain: Install drain line with proper slope and trap, route to approved drainage location.
  6. Evacuation & Charging: Evacuate system to 500 microns, hold vacuum, then charge with specified refrigerant type and quantity.
  7. System Startup: Perform complete system check, verify all safety controls, and test in cooling/heating modes.
Warning: Installation must be performed by EPA-certified technicians. Proper refrigerant handling and electrical safety procedures must be followed.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not starting Power loss, tripped breaker, faulty thermostat Check power supply, reset breakers, verify thermostat settings
Insufficient cooling Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked condenser Clean filters, check refrigerant charge, clear condenser area
Unit freezing up Low airflow, dirty coils, low refrigerant Check filters and blower, clean coils, verify refrigerant charge
Unusual noises Loose parts, failing motor, debris in fan Tighten all fasteners, inspect motors, clear fan area
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper slope, pump failure Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, check condensate pump
Short cycling Dirty filters, incorrect sizing, faulty sensor Clean/replace filters, verify system sizing, check sensors

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor failure - Check sensor connection
  • E2: Coil temperature sensor failure - Check sensor and wiring
  • E3: High pressure fault - Check condenser, refrigerant charge
  • E4: Low pressure fault - Check for leaks, refrigerant charge
  • E5: Compressor overload - Check voltage, compressor windings
  • E6: Communication error - Check wiring between units
  • E7: Fan motor fault - Check fan motor and capacitor
  • E8: Defrost system fault - Check defrost sensors and board
