Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Socket set
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Level
  • Air pressure gauge

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate clearance for maintenance access and proper airflow.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Place compressor on a solid, level concrete floor or vibration isolation pads to minimize noise and vibration.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply (see specifications). Ensure proper grounding and use recommended circuit protection.
  4. Air System Connection: Install proper air lines using appropriate fittings. Include a shut-off valve near compressor outlet.
  5. Drain Installation: Connect condensate drain line to tank drain valve, routing to appropriate drainage location.
  6. Pressure Settings: Set cut-in and cut-out pressures according to requirements using pressure switch adjustment.
  7. Initial Startup: Perform initial startup procedure including safety checks and system verification.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel following all local codes and regulations. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

Key Features

Iron Horse Motor

Heavy-duty, moisture-resistant motor with thermal overload protection for reliable operation in demanding conditions and extended service life.

Two-Stage Compression

Dual piston design provides higher efficiency and cooler operation by compressing air in two stages for greater CFM delivery at lower temperatures.

Pressure Lubricated Pump

Full pressure lubrication system ensures proper oil distribution to all moving parts, reducing wear and extending pump life.

ASME Certified Tank

80-gallon ASME certified air receiver tank with corrosion-resistant interior coating and large drain valve for easy maintenance.

Intellisys Controller

Advanced microprocessor control system monitors compressor operation, provides diagnostic information, and optimizes performance.

Aftercooler System

Integrated aftercooler reduces compressed air temperature, removing moisture before it enters the air system for dryer air output.

Control System Features

Auto/Stop Control

Automatic start-stop operation based on air demand with manual override capability

Dual Pressure Control

Separate adjustment for cut-in and cut-out pressures for customized operation

Diagnostic Display

LED display shows operating hours, pressure readings, and error codes

Thermal Protection

Automatic shutdown in case of overheating with reset capability

Unloader Valve

Automatic pressure relief during shutdown for easier restarting

Low Oil Shutdown

Protects pump by shutting down compressor when oil level is insufficient

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset overload, verify pressure switch operation
Low pressure output Air leaks, intake filter clogged, valve issues Check for leaks, clean/replace air filter, inspect valves
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, verify proper installation
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, low oil, restricted airflow Clean cooling surfaces, check oil level, ensure proper ventilation
Excessive moisture in air Drain valve not functioning, aftercooler issue Check automatic drain, inspect aftercooler, add air dryer if needed
Frequent cycling Air leaks, undersized system, pressure switch setting Locate and repair leaks, check system demand, adjust pressure switch

Error Codes

  • E01: Motor overload - Check amp draw and reset thermal protector
  • E02: High temperature - Clean cooling surfaces, check ventilation
  • E03: Low oil pressure - Check oil level and pump operation
  • E04: Pressure switch fault - Inspect switch and connections
  • E05: Sensor failure - Check temperature/pressure sensors
  • E06: Communication error - Inspect controller wiring
