Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Air pressure gauge
  • Level

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with sufficient space for maintenance access and proper air circulation.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Place compressor on a solid, level concrete floor capable of supporting the unit's weight and vibration.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply as specified in electrical requirements. Ensure proper grounding.
  4. Air System Connection: Install proper air lines using recommended pipe size. Include shut-off valve near compressor.
  5. Drain Installation: Connect condensate drain line to appropriate drainage system according to local codes.
  6. Pressure Settings: Verify and adjust cut-in and cut-out pressure settings according to application requirements.
  7. Initial Startup: Perform initial startup following pre-operation checklist and safety procedures.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel familiar with compressed air systems and local codes.

Key Features

Two-Stage Compression

Provides greater efficiency and cooler operation by compressing air in two stages, reducing moisture content and increasing overall system reliability.

Iron-AirĀ® Cylinders

Durable cast iron construction with large finned surfaces for superior heat dissipation and extended service life in demanding applications.

Pressure Lubricated Pump

Full pressure lubrication system ensures proper oil distribution to all moving parts, reducing wear and extending component life.

ASME Certified Tank

60-gallon ASME coded air receiver with safety valve and drain valve for reliable, code-compliant operation.

Thermal Overload Protection

Built-in motor protection with automatic reset thermal overload prevents motor damage from excessive current or temperature.

Low Oil Shutdown

Automatic shutdown feature protects the compressor pump from damage when oil level falls below minimum operating level.

Control System Features

Pressure Switch

Automatic start/stop control maintains consistent system pressure within adjustable range

Magnetic Starter

Provides reliable motor starting and overload protection for three-phase operation

Check Valve

Prevents backflow of compressed air into pump during shutdown periods

Safety Valve

ASME certified pressure relief valve provides protection against over-pressurization

Pressure Gauge

Dual gauge system displays tank pressure and regulated outlet pressure

Automatic Tank Drain

Optional electronic drain valve automatically removes condensate from tank

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch setting, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, verify pressure switch settings, reset thermal overload
Excessive noise/vibration Loose mounting, worn components, improper foundation Tighten mounting bolts, check for worn parts, ensure solid foundation
Low air pressure Air leaks, worn valves, intake filter clogged Check for leaks, inspect valves, clean/replace intake filter
Overheating Dirty cooling surfaces, low oil, restricted ventilation Clean cooling fins, check oil level, ensure proper ventilation
Excessive oil consumption Worn rings, improper oil type, overfilling Inspect compression rings, use correct oil type, maintain proper oil level
Frequent cycling Air leaks, large demand, pressure switch differential too small Repair leaks, check system demand, adjust pressure switch differential

Maintenance Codes & Indicators

  • Red Oil Light: Low oil pressure - Check oil level and pump immediately
  • High Temperature: Overheating condition - Check cooling system and ventilation
  • Motor Humming: Starting issue - Check capacitors and electrical connections
  • Knocking Sound: Mechanical issue - Shutdown immediately and inspect internals
  • Air Leak Sound: System leak - Check connections, valves, and fittings
  • Excessive Condensate: Moisture issue - Check aftercooler and drain system
