User Manual & Installation Guide

75 HP Rotary Screw Compressor

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Foundation bolts and anchor kit
  • Leveling shims
  • Pipe wrenches (appropriate size)
  • Torque wrench
  • Electrical test equipment
  • Air system pressure gauge

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Preparation: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate space for maintenance access and proper airflow.
  2. Foundation Requirements: Prepare a solid, level concrete foundation capable of supporting the compressor's weight (approximately 2500 lbs).
  3. Positioning: Use lifting equipment to position the compressor on the foundation. Do not lift using piping or electrical connections.
  4. Leveling: Adjust leveling pads or shims to ensure the compressor is perfectly level in all directions.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply (460V, 3-phase, 60Hz). All electrical work must comply with local codes and be performed by a qualified electrician.
  6. Air System Connection: Install proper air piping with adequate size and support. Include isolation valves, check valve, and aftercooler if required.
  7. Drain Connection: Connect condensate drain line to appropriate drainage system following environmental regulations.
  8. Initial Startup: Perform pre-startup checks, fill lubricant if required, and follow initial startup procedure in manual.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel. Improper installation can cause equipment failure, void warranty, and create safety hazards.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, emergency stop activated, control fault Check power supply, reset emergency stop, check control system
Low air pressure Air leaks, clogged filter, system demand exceeds capacity Check for leaks, replace air filter, verify system requirements
High operating temperature Dirty cooler, low oil level, ambient temperature too high Clean cooler fins, check oil level, improve ventilation
Excessive vibration Foundation issues, loose mounting bolts, worn couplings Check foundation and leveling, tighten bolts, inspect couplings
Oil in air system Worn separator element, overfilled oil, high operating pressure Replace separator, check oil level, verify operating pressure
Frequent cycling Air leaks, improper pressure settings, small receiver tank Locate and repair leaks, adjust pressure settings, check tank size

Common Error Codes

  • E01: High Temperature - Check cooling system and oil level
  • E02: Low Oil Pressure - Check oil level and pressure switch
  • E03: Motor Overload - Check electrical connections and load
  • E04: Phase Loss/Imbalance - Check power supply and connections
  • E05: High Pressure - Check pressure switch and relief valve
  • E06: Sensor Fault - Check temperature and pressure sensors
  • E07: Communication Error - Check control wiring and connections
