Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Air leak, worn pump rings, clogged intake filter Check for leaks, clean or replace intake filter, inspect pump
Excessive noise Loose components, worn bearings, piston slap Tighten all fasteners, check motor and pump bearings
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, inadequate ventilation, continuous operation Clean cooling fins, improve ventilation, allow cool-down periods
Air tank moisture High humidity, inadequate draining, missing air dryer Drain tank regularly, install air dryer, reduce humidity exposure
Slow recovery time Worn pump, intake restriction, leaking check valve Clean intake, check valve operation, inspect pump condition

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check oil level (if applicable)
  • Weekly: Inspect hoses and connections for leaks
  • Monthly: Clean intake filter, check belt tension (if applicable)
  • Quarterly: Inspect safety valve, check pump condition
  • Annually: Complete system inspection, replace worn components
