Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Tape measure
  • Pipe thread sealant

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate clearance for air circulation and maintenance access.
  2. Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect the compressor for any shipping damage.
  3. Position the Compressor: Place on a solid, level surface. Use vibration pads if installing on concrete floor.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 15A, AC only outlet with correct circuit protection. Do not use an extension cord.
  5. Air System Setup: Install air filter on intake, connect air hose to outlet using appropriate fittings with thread sealant.
  6. Check Oil Level: Verify oil level is at proper mark on sight glass (oil-lubricated models only).
  7. Initial Startup: Open tank drain valve, turn power on, allow compressor to build pressure and cycle several times to remove moisture.
Warning: Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure proper ventilation and follow all local electrical codes.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Leaks, worn rings, intake filter clogged Check for air leaks, clean/replace intake filter, inspect pump
Excessive cycling Air leaks, check valve failure Check system for leaks, inspect/replace check valve
Overheating Poor ventilation, dirty cooling fins, excessive use Improve ventilation, clean cooling fins, allow cool-down periods
Excessive moisture in air Drain valve left closed, high humidity Drain tank regularly, install aftercooler or dryer
Unusual noises Loose components, worn bearings, piston issues Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, inspect piston/cylinder

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check for leaks
  • Weekly: Inspect air filter, check hose connections
  • Monthly: Check safety valve operation, inspect belts (if equipped)
  • Quarterly: Clean cooling fins, check motor brushes
  • Annually: Complete system inspection, replace air filter
  • As Needed: Check and tighten all fasteners
