Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Level
  • Teflon tape

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with adequate space for maintenance access and proper air circulation.
  2. Prepare the Foundation: Place compressor on a solid, level concrete floor capable of supporting the unit's weight when fully loaded.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated 240V, 60Hz circuit with proper grounding. Follow local electrical codes.
  4. Air System Setup: Install air lines using proper pipe size, include drip legs and shut-off valves at strategic locations.
  5. Drain Installation: Connect condensate drain line to proper drainage system or collection container.
  6. Pressure Settings: Adjust pressure switch cut-in and cut-out settings according to your application requirements.
  7. Initial Startup: Fill with recommended compressor oil, check all connections, and perform initial run-in procedure.
Warning: Installation must comply with all local codes and regulations. Only qualified personnel should perform electrical and plumbing connections.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, reset thermal overload, test pressure switch
Low pressure output Worn rings, leaking valves, intake filter clogged Check pump compression, clean/replace intake filter, inspect valves
Excessive noise/vibration Loose mounting, worn bearings, pulley misalignment Tighten mounting bolts, check bearings and alignment
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, low oil, restricted ventilation Clean cooling fins, check oil level, improve ventilation
Oil in air lines Worn piston rings, overfilled oil, wrong oil type Check ring condition, drain to proper level, use correct oil
Frequent cycling Air leaks, faulty pressure switch, check valve issue Check for leaks, test pressure switch, inspect check valve

Error Indicators

  • Red Light - Thermal Overload: Motor overheated - Allow to cool, check ventilation
  • Yellow Light - Low Oil: Oil below minimum - Check and refill with recommended oil
  • Flashing Green - Pressure Switch Fault: Switch not functioning - Test and replace if necessary
  • No Lights - Power Issue: No electrical power - Check circuit breaker and connections
  • Continuous Running: Pressure switch stuck - Clean or replace pressure switch
  • Knocking Sound: Connecting rod issue - Immediate shutdown required
