Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Vacuum pump with manifold gauge
  • Torque wrench
  • Flaring tool set
  • Pipe cutter
  • Level
  • Drill with hole saw attachment

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location with proper clearance (minimum 15cm from ceiling, 30cm from walls) and away from heat sources.
  2. Mount Indoor Unit Bracket: Securely mount the wall bracket using appropriate anchors for wall type (concrete/brick/plasterboard).
  3. Install Outdoor Unit: Place on stable, level surface with proper vibration isolation pads and minimum 30cm clearance on all sides.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Pipes: Connect copper pipes between indoor and outdoor units using flare connections with proper torque specifications.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper grounding according to Singapore electrical standards (230V, 50Hz).
  6. Vacuum and Charge: Evacuate system to 500 microns minimum, then charge with specified amount of R32 refrigerant.
  7. Test Operation: Test cooling and heating functions, check for leaks, and verify proper drainage.
Warning: Installation must be performed by BCA-approved air-conditioning installer in Singapore. DIY installation voids warranty and may violate safety regulations.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not cooling Dirty filters, low refrigerant, outdoor unit blocked Clean filters, check for refrigerant leak, clear outdoor unit area
Water leaking indoors Clogged drain pipe, improper installation slope Clear drain pipe, ensure proper drainage slope (minimum 1:100)
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration Tighten all fasteners, clean fan blades, check mounting
Foul odor Dirty filters, mold growth in drain pan Clean filters, use anti-bacterial treatment, run dry mode
Remote not working Dead batteries, signal obstruction, distance Replace batteries, ensure line of sight, stay within 7m range
High electricity consumption Dirty filters, poor insulation, frequent on/off Clean filters regularly, improve room insulation, use timer function

Error Codes

  • P1/P2: Power supply issue - Check voltage and wiring connections
  • E6/E7: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor and outdoor units
  • H1/H2: Defrost operation - Normal during heating in humid conditions
  • F3/F4: Temperature sensor failure - Replace faulty sensor
  • U4: Indoor/outdoor communication - Check connection and power
  • L5: Overcurrent protection - Check for short circuit or compressor issue
