Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Drill with hole saw attachment
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Torque wrench
  • Vacuum pump and manifold gauge
  • Flaring tool

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location on a solid wall with proper clearance from obstacles and adequate drainage.
  2. Mount Wall Bracket: Securely mount the wall bracket using appropriate anchors for your wall type, ensuring it is perfectly level.
  3. Create Wall Opening: Drill a hole through the wall for refrigerant piping, drain hose, and electrical connections.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Pipes: Connect indoor and outdoor units with flare connections, ensuring proper insulation on pipes.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated circuit with proper voltage (208-230V) and install disconnect box as required by local codes.
  6. Drainage Setup: Install drain hose with proper downward slope to ensure complete water drainage.
  7. Vacuum and Charge: Evacuate air and moisture from refrigerant lines, then charge with specified refrigerant type and amount.
  8. Test Operation: Test all functions including cooling, heating, fan speeds, and remote control operation.
Warning: Installation must be performed by a certified HVAC technician. Improper installation may void warranty and cause equipment failure.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit won't start Power issue, remote control batteries, circuit breaker Check power supply, replace remote batteries, reset circuit breaker
Poor cooling/heating Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked airflow Clean filters, check for refrigerant leak, clear obstructions
Water dripping indoors Clogged drain line, improper installation slope Clear drain line, ensure proper downward slope of drain hose
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration Tighten mounting, clear debris, check for proper isolation
Remote not working Dead batteries, signal obstruction, sensor issue Replace batteries, ensure line of sight, check sensor window
Error code displayed System malfunction, sensor failure Refer to error code chart, contact service if persistent

Common Error Codes

  • P1/P2: Power supply issue - Check voltage and wiring
  • E6: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor/outdoor units
  • H3/H4: High pressure protection - Check for restricted airflow
  • F3: Discharge pipe temperature sensor - Contact service
  • U4: Indoor/outdoor communication - Check connections
  • J1/J2: Room temperature sensor - Check sensor connection
