Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Socket wrench set
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe wrench
  • Tape measure
  • Torque wrench

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate space for maintenance access and proper air circulation.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Install on a solid, level concrete foundation capable of supporting the compressor's weight and vibration.
  3. Uncrating and Positioning: Remove all shipping materials and position the compressor using appropriate lifting equipment.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply (see specifications). All electrical work must be performed by a qualified electrician.
  5. Air System Connection: Install proper air piping with drip legs, shutoff valves, and pressure relief valves as required by local codes.
  6. Oil Check: Verify proper oil level in the crankcase before initial startup.
  7. Initial Startup: Perform initial startup following the break-in procedure outlined in the manual.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel familiar with compressed air systems and local safety regulations.

Key Features

QT Pro™ Two-Stage Pump

Advanced two-stage design provides greater efficiency, cooler operation, and longer life compared to single-stage compressors.

Pressure Lubrication System

Full pressure lubrication ensures proper oil flow to all critical components, reducing wear and extending compressor life.

Intercooler & Aftercooler

Dual cooling system reduces air temperature between stages and after compression, removing moisture and increasing efficiency.

Large Capacity Air Receiver

80-gallon ASME-certified tank provides ample air storage for demanding applications and reduces compressor cycling.

IntelliSys™ Controller

Microprocessor-based control system monitors operation, provides diagnostic information, and optimizes performance.

Low RPM Operation

Operating at 870 RPM reduces wear, noise, and heat generation while improving efficiency and reliability.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset overload, verify pressure switch setting
Low air pressure Air leaks, worn valves, intake filter clogged Check for leaks, inspect valves, clean/replace air filter
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper foundation Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, verify proper installation
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, low oil, restricted airflow Clean cooling surfaces, check oil level, ensure proper ventilation
Excessive oil consumption Worn rings, leaking seals, overfilling Check compression, inspect seals, verify proper oil level
Frequent cycling Air leaks, undersized piping, faulty check valve Locate and repair leaks, check piping size, inspect check valve

Error Codes (IntelliSys™ Controller)

  • E-01: High temperature shutdown - Check cooling system and oil level
  • E-02: Low oil pressure - Check oil level and pressure switch
  • E-03: Motor overload - Check electrical connections and load
  • E-04: Pressure sensor fault - Check pressure transducer
  • E-05: Communication error - Check controller connections
  • E-06: Run time exceeded - Check for continuous operation issues
