Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Socket set
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Level
  • Tape measure
  • Pipe thread sealant

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with adequate clearance for maintenance access and proper airflow.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Install on a solid, level concrete foundation capable of supporting the compressor's weight and vibration.
  3. Uncrating and Inspection: Remove all shipping materials, inspect for damage, and verify all components are included.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply (see specifications). All electrical work must comply with local codes and be performed by a qualified electrician.
  5. Air System Connection: Install proper air lines using recommended pipe size. Include a shut-off valve near the compressor outlet.
  6. Drain Installation: Connect condensate drain line to tank drain valve and route to appropriate drainage location.
  7. Check Oil Level: Verify proper oil level in crankcase before initial startup.
  8. Initial Startup: Perform initial startup following break-in procedures outlined in the manual.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure all safety precautions are followed. The compressor must be properly grounded.

Key Features

Quincy QR-25 Series Pump

Heavy-duty industrial pump with cast iron construction, pressure lubrication system, and large diameter crankshaft for extended service life and reliable performance.

Two-Stage Compression

Provides greater efficiency and cooler operation by compressing air in two stages, reducing moisture accumulation and increasing overall system efficiency.

Pressure Lubrication System

Positive pressure lubrication ensures all moving parts receive proper lubrication even during startup, reducing wear and extending component life.

ASME Certified Tank

120-gallon ASME certified air receiver tank with safety valve and drain valve, manufactured to meet strict quality and safety standards.

Thermal Protection

Built-in thermal overload protection on motor prevents damage from overheating during extended operation or high ambient temperatures.

Vibration Isolation

Rubber isolation mounts reduce vibration transmission to the floor and surrounding structures, minimizing noise and preventing stress on components.

Control System Features

Magnetic Starter

Heavy-duty magnetic starter with overload protection for reliable motor starting and protection against electrical faults.

Pressure Switch

Adjustable pressure switch with automatic cut-in/cut-out control for maintaining consistent system pressure.

Check Valve

Prevents backflow of compressed air from tank to pump when compressor is shut off, protecting pump components.

Safety Valve

ASME certified safety relief valve provides protection against over-pressurization of the air receiver tank.

Automatic Tank Drain

Optional automatic condensate drain removes moisture from tank at regular intervals to prevent corrosion.

Pressure Gauge

Dual gauge system displays tank pressure and system pressure for accurate monitoring of compressor operation.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, verify pressure switch settings, reset thermal overload
Low air pressure output Air leaks, intake filter clogged, worn valves Check for leaks, clean/replace intake filter, inspect valve plates
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, verify proper installation
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, inadequate ventilation, high ambient temperature Clean cooling fins, improve ventilation, reduce operating time
Excessive oil consumption Worn rings, leaking gaskets, overfilled crankcase Check compression, inspect gaskets, verify proper oil level
Motor trips overload Low voltage, excessive load, faulty starter Check voltage supply, reduce load, test starter components

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Check oil level, drain condensate from tank, inspect for leaks
  • Weekly: Clean intake filter, check belt tension (if applicable), inspect safety valve
  • Monthly: Check all fasteners, inspect electrical connections, test pressure switch
  • Quarterly: Change compressor oil, clean cooling fins, inspect valves
  • Annually: Replace air filter, check motor bearings, perform complete system inspection
  • Every 2 Years: Replace safety valve, inspect tank interior for corrosion
