Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Torque wrench set
  • Air pressure gauge
  • Socket set (metric and standard)
  • Level
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Air line filter

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Location: Choose a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with sufficient clearance for maintenance access and proper airflow.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Install on a solid, level concrete foundation capable of supporting the compressor's weight and vibration.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply per local electrical codes. Quincy compressors typically require 3-phase power for industrial models.
  4. Air System Connection: Install proper air lines using recommended pipe size. Include shut-off valves, drains, and filters in the system.
  5. Oil Check: Verify proper oil level in compressor crankcase before initial startup.
  6. Pressure Settings: Adjust pressure switch cut-in and cut-out settings according to application requirements.
  7. Initial Run Test: Run compressor through complete cycle to check for leaks, proper operation, and correct pressure buildup.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel following all local codes and regulations. Ensure proper safety precautions are taken.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset overloads, verify pressure switch settings
Low pressure output Air leaks, intake filter clogged, worn components Check for leaks, replace air filter, inspect valves and seals
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all fasteners, check motor and pump bearings, verify proper installation
High operating temperature Dirty cooler, low oil level, restricted airflow Clean cooler fins, check oil level and quality, ensure proper ventilation
Excessive oil consumption Oil leaks, worn seals, improper oil return Check for leaks, inspect seals, verify oil separator function
Frequent cycling Air leaks, oversized compressor, control setting issues Locate and repair leaks, adjust pressure settings, check control system

Error Codes

  • E01: High temperature - Check cooling system and oil level
  • E02: Low pressure - Check for leaks and intake system
  • E03: Motor overload - Check electrical connections and load
  • E04: Sensor fault - Check temperature and pressure sensors
  • E05: Communication error - Check control wiring and connections
  • E06: Oil pressure low - Check oil level, filter, and pump
