Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Air pressure gauge
  • Level
  • Pipe cutter

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with sufficient clearance for maintenance access and proper airflow.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Place compressor on a solid, level concrete floor or vibration-absorbing pads to minimize noise transmission.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply (check model specifications). Ensure proper grounding and circuit protection.
  4. Air System Connection: Install air lines using proper pipe size. Include shut-off valves, moisture traps, and pressure regulators as needed.
  5. Oil Check: Verify proper oil level according to manufacturer specifications before initial startup.
  6. Pressure Settings: Adjust pressure switch cut-in and cut-out settings according to application requirements.
  7. Initial Startup: Run compressor without load for 10-15 minutes to circulate oil and check for proper operation.
Warning: Installation must comply with all local codes and regulations. Only qualified personnel should perform installation to ensure safety and maintain warranty coverage.

Key Features

Quincy QSI® Control System

Advanced microprocessor control system with digital display provides precise monitoring and control of compressor operation, including maintenance scheduling and fault diagnostics.

Rotary Screw Technology

Patented asymmetric screw profile delivers maximum efficiency with minimal energy consumption, providing continuous duty operation for industrial applications.

Energy Saving Modes

Automatic dual control modes (load/unload and modulation) optimize energy usage based on air demand, reducing operating costs by up to 30%.

Advanced Filtration System

Multi-stage filtration including intake filter, oil separator, and aftercooler ensures clean, dry compressed air with minimal oil carryover (3-5 ppm typical).

Quiet Operation

Sound-dampening enclosure and precision engineering reduce operational noise to as low as 70 dB(A), meeting OSHA requirements for workplace environments.

DuraGuard® Protection

Comprehensive protection system monitors temperature, pressure, and motor load to prevent damage and ensure reliable operation under varying conditions.

Compressor Technologies Explained

Rotary Screw

Continuous duty operation ideal for industrial applications requiring constant air supply

Reciprocating

Piston-type compressors for intermittent duty and high-pressure applications

Oil-Free

Specialty compressors for applications requiring 100% oil-free air

Variable Speed

Energy-efficient design that adjusts motor speed to match air demand

Two-Stage

Higher efficiency design with compression occurring in two stages

Portable

Mobile units with integrated tanks for job site applications

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset overload, verify pressure switch operation
Low pressure output Air leaks, intake filter clogged, worn components Check for leaks, clean/replace intake filter, inspect valves
Excessive noise/vibration Loose mounting, worn bearings, improper alignment Tighten mounts, check bearings, verify alignment
High operating temperature Dirty cooler, low oil level, restricted airflow Clean cooler fins, check oil level, ensure proper ventilation
Oil in air lines Overfilled oil, failed separator, worn rings Check oil level, replace separator element, inspect compression chamber
Frequent cycling Air leaks, oversized compressor, control setting issues Locate and repair leaks, adjust pressure settings, check control system

Error Codes

  • E01: High temperature - Check cooling system and oil level
  • E02: Low pressure - Check for leaks and intake restriction
  • E03: High pressure - Verify pressure switch settings
  • E04: Motor overload - Check electrical connections and load
  • E05: Sensor fault - Check temperature/pressure sensors
  • E06: Communication error - Check control system wiring
