Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Socket set (SAE/Metric)
  • Torque wrench
  • Level
  • Pipe thread sealant
  • Pressure gauge

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Location: Choose a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with adequate clearance for maintenance access and proper airflow.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Install on a solid, level concrete foundation capable of supporting 650 lbs. Use vibration isolation pads if needed.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated 230V, 60Hz, 3-phase power supply with proper overload protection. Follow local electrical codes.
  4. Air System Connection: Install proper air piping with minimum 1" diameter, using downward slopes for condensation drainage.
  5. Oil Check: Verify oil level is at proper mark on sight glass using Quincy synthetic compressor oil.
  6. Pressure Settings: Set cut-in pressure to 100 PSI and cut-out pressure to 175 PSI using pressure switch adjustment.
  7. Initial Run: Run compressor unloaded for 30 minutes to circulate oil, then check for leaks and proper operation.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure all safety guards are in place before operation.

Key Features

Quincy QR-25 Series Pump

Heavy-duty cast iron construction with pressure lubrication system, large diameter crankshaft, and replaceable cylinder liners for extended service life.

Two-Stage Compression

Provides greater efficiency and cooler operation by compressing air in two stages with intercooling between stages for reduced moisture and higher CFM output.

Pressure Lubrication System

Positive pressure lubrication ensures all moving parts receive proper oil flow, reducing wear and extending component life even under continuous duty cycles.

ASME Certified Tank

80-gallon ASME coded and stamped air receiver with safety valve, drain valve, and pressure gauge for reliable, safe air storage.

Energy Efficient Motor

Premium efficiency 10 HP motor with thermal overload protection and balanced rotor for smooth operation and reduced energy consumption.

Advanced Control System

Magnetic starter with overload protection, pressure switch with unloader valve, and automatic tank drain for reliable operation.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily

Check oil level, drain tank condensation, inspect for leaks, verify pressure settings

Monthly

Check belt tension, clean intake filter, inspect safety valve, check vibration mounts

Quarterly

Change compressor oil, inspect valves, check motor bearings, clean cooling fins

Annually

Replace air filter, check intercooler, inspect check valves, professional safety inspection

Every 2 Years

Replace separator element, rebuild pump if needed, complete system pressure test

As Needed

Replace belts, rebuild valves, replace gaskets, motor maintenance

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, reset overload, verify pressure switch operation
Low air pressure output Worn valves, leaking gaskets, restricted intake Check valve operation, inspect for leaks, clean air filter
Excessive noise/vibration Loose mounting, worn bearings, belt issues Tighten mounting bolts, check bearings and pulleys, adjust belt tension
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, low oil, restricted airflow Clean cooling surfaces, check oil level, ensure proper ventilation
Excessive oil consumption Worn rings, leaking seals, overfilling Check compression, inspect seals, verify proper oil level
Frequent cycling Air leaks, faulty pressure switch, undersized piping Check for system leaks, adjust pressure switch, verify pipe sizing

Error Indicators

  • Red Oil Light: Low oil pressure - Check oil level and pump immediately
  • High Temperature: Overheating - Shut down and check cooling system
  • Motor Humming: Starting capacitor issue - Check electrical components
  • Knocking Sound: Mechanical issue - Immediate shutdown required
  • Pressure Fluctuation: Valve problem - Inspect compressor valves
  • Belt Squeal: Slipping belt - Adjust tension or replace belt
