Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Socket set
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Level
  • Tape measure
  • Pipe thread sealant

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated location with adequate space for maintenance access and proper air circulation.
  2. Foundation Preparation: Place compressor on a solid, level concrete floor or vibration-absorbing pads to minimize noise and vibration.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply (see specifications). Ensure proper grounding and use correct wire gauge for distance.
  4. Air System Connection: Install air lines using appropriate fittings. Include a shut-off valve and drain valve in the system.
  5. Pressure Settings: Set cut-in and cut-out pressures according to requirements. Factory settings are typically 100-125 PSI.
  6. Oil Check: Verify proper oil level in compressor crankcase before initial startup.
  7. Initial Run Test: Run compressor through complete cycle to check for leaks, proper pressure buildup, and automatic shut-off.
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure all safety precautions are followed and local codes are observed.

Key Features

Two-Stage Pump Design

The two-stage pump provides greater efficiency and cooler operation by compressing air in two steps, resulting in higher pressure with less heat generation.

ASME Certified Tank

60-gallon ASME certified tank with corrosion-resistant interior coating ensures safety and durability for long-term industrial use.

Pressure Lubricated Pump

Full pressure lubrication system ensures proper oil distribution to all moving parts, reducing wear and extending pump life.

Thermal Overload Protection

Built-in thermal overload protection prevents motor damage from overheating during extended operation or high ambient temperatures.

Low Oil Shutdown

Automatic shutdown feature activates when oil level drops below safe operating level, preventing pump damage.

Industrial-Grade Motor

5.5 HP industrial motor with high starting torque and thermal protection designed for continuous duty applications.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset thermal overload, test pressure switch
Low pressure output Worn rings, leaking valves, intake filter clogged Check compression, inspect valves, clean/replace air filter
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, ensure proper installation
Oil in air lines Worn piston rings, overfilled oil, wrong oil type Check rings, adjust oil level, use correct compressor oil
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, high ambient temperature, restricted airflow Clean cooling surfaces, improve ventilation, check duty cycle
Frequent cycling Air leaks, faulty check valve, undersized tank Check for leaks, test check valve, verify system requirements

Maintenance Codes & Indicators

  • Red Indicator Light: Thermal overload - Allow compressor to cool, check ventilation
  • Yellow Indicator Light: Low oil level - Check and add appropriate compressor oil
  • Continuous Running: Air leak detected - Check system for leaks
  • Failure to Build Pressure: Pump issue - Check valves, rings, and gaskets
  • Excessive Condensation: Drain tank daily, check automatic drain function
  • Unusual Knocking: Connecting rod or bearing issue - Immediate service required
