Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe wrench
  • Tape measure
  • Air pressure gauge

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a well-ventilated location with solid, level concrete flooring and adequate clearance for maintenance.
  2. Uncrate and Inspect: Remove all shipping materials and inspect for any damage during transit. Check all components against packing list.
  3. Foundation Preparation: Install on a solid concrete foundation using appropriate anchor bolts. Ensure unit is level in all directions.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to appropriate power supply (see specifications). All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician.
  5. Air System Connection: Install proper air lines using recommended pipe size. Include shut-off valves, drains, and filters as needed.
  6. Oil Check: Verify proper oil level in crankcase before initial startup. Use only recommended compressor oil.
  7. Initial Startup: Perform initial startup following proper break-in procedures. Check for leaks and monitor pressure settings.
Warning: All installations must be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure proper ventilation and follow all local codes and regulations.

Key Features

QP Pump Technology

Quincy's proprietary QP pump features large diameter crankshaft, ductile iron connecting rods, and pressure-lubricated design for maximum durability and efficiency.

Two-Stage Compression

Provides cooler operation and higher efficiency by compressing air in two stages with intercooling between stages for reduced moisture and increased performance.

Pressure Lubrication System

Full pressure lubrication system ensures all critical components receive proper oil flow, extending pump life and reducing maintenance requirements.

ASME Certified Tank

Heavy-duty 80-gallon ASME certified air receiver tank with lifetime warranty provides ample air storage for demanding applications.

Thermal Protection

Built-in thermal overload protection on motor and automatic shut-off features prevent damage from overheating or excessive cycling.

Easy Maintenance Design

Large access doors, easy-to-reach valves, and clearly marked service points simplify routine maintenance and inspection procedures.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset overload, inspect pressure switch
Low air pressure Air leaks, worn valves, intake filter clogged Check for leaks, inspect valves, clean/replace air filter
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, verify proper installation
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, low oil, restricted ventilation Clean cooling surfaces, check oil level, improve ventilation
Oil in air lines Worn piston rings, overfilled oil, wrong oil type Check rings, adjust oil level, use recommended oil
Excessive cycling Air leaks, large demand, pressure switch adjustment Find/fix leaks, reduce demand, adjust pressure switch

Maintenance Codes & Indicators

  • OL: Overload condition - Check motor and reset overload
  • LO: Low oil pressure - Check oil level and pump
  • HT: High temperature - Allow to cool, check ventilation
  • PS: Pressure switch fault - Inspect and adjust switch
  • AF: Air filter restriction - Clean or replace filter
  • VL: Valve leakage - Inspect and replace valves as needed
