Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload tripped Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Air leak, worn valves, incorrect regulator setting Check for leaks, inspect valves, adjust pressure regulator
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn mounts, improper installation Tighten all fasteners, check mounting, ensure level installation
Overheating Restricted airflow, dirty cooling fins, excessive cycling Clean cooling fins, ensure proper ventilation, check duty cycle
Moisture in air lines High humidity, inadequate draining, missing air dryer Drain tank regularly, install air dryer, reduce humidity if possible
Excessive cycling Air leak, worn check valve, undersized tank Check for leaks, inspect check valve, verify adequate tank size

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check for leaks
  • Weekly: Inspect hoses and connections, clean air filter
  • Monthly: Check all fasteners, inspect safety valve
  • Annually: Complete system inspection, replace worn components
  • As Needed: Replace air filter, check belt tension (if applicable)
