Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Pipe thread sealant (Teflon tape)
  • Air hose (3/8" recommended)
  • Pressure regulator
  • Safety glasses and gloves

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a clean, dry, well-ventilated area with solid, level flooring and adequate clearance for maintenance.
  2. Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect for shipping damage. Check oil level in pump.
  3. Position the Compressor: Place on a level surface. Use vibration pads if installing on concrete floor.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated 120V, 15A grounded outlet. Ensure proper circuit breaker protection.
  5. Air System Setup: Install air filter on intake, connect air hose to outlet using thread sealant, and install pressure regulator if not pre-installed.
  6. Drain Installation: Connect drain hose to tank drain valve and route to appropriate drainage location.
  7. Initial Test Run: Open tank drain valve, turn on compressor, allow to build pressure, then shut off and check for leaks.
Warning: Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure proper ventilation as compressors produce carbon monoxide during operation.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Compressor won't start Power issue, pressure switch fault, thermal overload Check power supply, reset thermal overload, check pressure switch
Low pressure output Air leaks, worn piston rings, faulty pressure regulator Check for leaks, inspect piston rings, test pressure regulator
Excessive noise/vibration Loose components, worn bearings, improper mounting Tighten all fasteners, check bearings, ensure proper installation
Overheating Dirty cooling fins, low oil, restricted ventilation Clean cooling fins, check oil level, improve ventilation
Oil in air lines Overfilled oil, worn piston rings, faulty air/oil separator Check oil level, replace piston rings, inspect separator
Slow recovery time Air leaks, worn valves, undersized power supply Check for leaks, inspect valves, verify adequate power

Maintenance Schedule

  • Daily: Drain moisture from tank, check oil level
  • Weekly: Check for air leaks, clean intake filter
  • Monthly: Inspect belts and pulleys, check safety valve
  • Every 3 Months: Change compressor oil, clean cooling fins
  • Annually: Replace air filter, inspect check valve
  • Every 2 Years: Replace safety valve, rebuild kit if needed
